# Business continuity, built on data you already have

Business Continuity Management turns the system map and dependency data you've already built in Finosec into a structured, examiner-ready continuity program, without a second system to maintain.

## Continuity planning shouldn't live in Word and Excel

Most business continuity programs are built from a business impact spreadsheet, a plan in Word, and a folder of department notes that only one person really understands. Systems get renamed, vendors change, and the plan quietly falls out of date between reviews.

Examiners are asking for more than a static document now. They want to see a managed process: how you identified your critical functions, how you set recovery objectives, and how you test and prove the plan works. Business Continuity Management gives that process a structured home.

## What Business Continuity Management delivers

### Guided Business Impact Questionnaire

Send a guided questionnaire to department heads and system owners. They confirm their process, set recovery objectives, and identify what they depend on, with plain-language guidance at every step. No technical background required.

### Dependency mapping

See every system, vendor, piece of hardware, and person tied to each business function in one place, so single points of failure and coverage gaps are visible before an examiner finds them.

### Exercises and incident tracking

Schedule and log tabletop exercises and real incidents in one system, with 10-12 templated walk-through scenarios your team runs itself, including ransomware, vendor failure, and core processor outage.

### Examiner and board reporting

Generate a comprehensive BCM report, a business function inventory, and a board summary on demand, built entirely from data you have already maintained.

## One platform, not a second system to maintain

BCM reuses the system map and dependency data (systems, software, vendors, hardware, and people) you've already built in Finosec to populate business functions, so you're not re-entering what you've already told Finosec once. It's software-first, guiding you through business continuity planning every step of the way, so you're never starting from a blank template or waiting on a consultant.

**Don't Repeat Yourself Data Entry**

Your governance program sits on one foundation. Regardless of which Finosec product you start with, you document each piece of information one time. The vendor, user, owner or PII access flows into every review and assessment after that from the same record, ending the re-keying and the disconnected systems and spreadsheets.

## Questions we hear

**Do I need anything else to use Business Continuity Management?**
BCM is available to all Finosec customers except CAT-only customers. Ask your Finosec contact if you're not sure whether your institution qualifies.

**Does this replace our existing continuity plan?**
It gives your plan a structured home. BCM guides you through refining what you already have (functions, recovery objectives, procedures) rather than asking you to start over, and your team reviews and confirms the data along the way.

**Is this a disaster recovery tool?**
No. Business Continuity Management focuses on business continuity, keeping the organization operating. IT disaster recovery is handled through your existing Finosec platform controls, not authored inside this module.

**How do we bring in our current plan?**
Your Finosec team guides you through the transition. This is a hands-on process today, not an automatic import, and we will say plainly if and when that changes.

**Is this a consulting service?**
No. Business Continuity Management is software: it structures, guides, and reports your continuity program using data already in the platform. It does not provide consulting or recovery-design services.
